A group of 28 volunteers form Korea Energy (KOEN) visited Government Boys Middle School, Gulhar Sharif and performed various cultural, sports and building renovation activities in the school under the umbrella of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) on 15th & 15th May 2017. The renovation work included painting of walls, 200 desks for students, chairs for staff, podiums for classrooms and four toilets were renovated with tiles, installation of drains and stairs grill and provided other sanitary accessories.
The volunteers also organized an interactive activity to exchange cultures and sports of both nations, Korean and Kashmiri. The students found it very interesting to interact with the Korean volunteers and to teach them about their culture. The volunteers also played different sports with the students and taught them about popular Korean sports.
At the end of the two-day volunteering activity, a closing event was organized where the volunteers and the school representatives shared their experiences about the activities. On the occasion Chief of KOEN Volunteers Mr. Ahn Chan Seong spoke to community and assured that KOEN and Mira Power Limited will continue their activities for betterment of community. All KOEN volunteers distributed 200 gift packs to students of school. Chief guest Malik Muhammad Nawaz Khan appreciated efforts of KOEN Volunteers and Mira Power Limited and assured his un-conditional cooperation for success of Gulpur Hydro Power Project. At the end Head Teacher Mr. Irshad Bhatti delivered note of thanks to KOEN Volunteers and Mira Power Limited, he also presented letter of appreciation to KOEN Volunteers.
